Rutland Community Electricity is a program in development by the Town to provide residents and businesses more electricity supply options and more renewable energy. The program is a Town-vetted alternative to National Grid default supply and other third-party electricity suppliers.

The DPU approved Rutland’s aggregation plan  on Feburary 5, 2026. With this approval, the Town will be able to procure electricity supply and launch its program.

Customers that receive solar electricity benefits from net metering credits, community shared solar or similar payments will continue to receive those benefits.
